Blondie in China
This may have been the funnest video I've ever made, mostly because I LOVE CHINESE BREAKFAST! It's very different from what you might eat for breakfast in your home country, so when you're next in China, don't be shy! Give some of the local brekkie foods a go!
For anyone who's wondering, HERE'S MY FAV VPN FOR CHINA https://www.linkev.com/?a_fid=blondie...
Subtitles by the wonderful team at FIX字幕侠
Have a great day y'all xx
unbelievable, you have tried more chinese breakfast than me.
It’s very rare western people can show the truth breakfast from north to south. Well done!
You deserve more recognition girl! Such good content and great editing! Epic quality.
I have to mention that tofu brain is spicy in Sichuan province. I highly recommend you have a try. It’s extremely delicious.
do you try the spicy ice cream in Sichuan?
What else isn't spicy in Sichuan?
You Sichuanese say that about everything! Everything has to be spicy, and nothing is edible without spicyness for you!
Dip tofu in hot watery melted brown sugar its the best
Huy Huynh Xuan
Haha. In Viet Nam, we have that dish too and you can buy it with less than 1$.
LOL dont know what is that but definitely not chinese.
ArcanistSickle it actually is real but its not from the north. Its called dou fu hua. Its from guangdong
Many restaurants like to add MSG in their dishes. You can ask them NOT to put MSG actually.
You have such a welcoming friendly personality when we smile it is a universal language saying I am OK and your OK. no words need to be spoken.
You have definitely done a lot of research about the breakfast. They are all the truth and and specific!
Be very careful, about the Tofu brains(flower) should be salty or sweety, you are starting a war.
brUH your Mandarin is way better than mine :")
This showed up on my recommended videos, and after seeing it as I scrolled so many times, I had to click on it. Immediately, your video editing style and bubbly personality seriously drew me to your channel. Bravo!
Your channel is wicked fun to watch, don't change anything about it!
Greetings from Boston!
fly to the South just to introduce the breakfast there haha girl you're amazing
Love your video!
Seriously, I am Chinese. and whenever people ask me, "what's your favorite Chinese food? what do you eat for breakfast?" I could not answer. Our breakfasts are too diverse and I have like a million favorite dish to eat.
It's hilarious when the lady served the sweet tofu flower in SHENZHEN start to talk and HAS A STRONG DONGBEI ACCENT.
you have a very bubbly personality and you look really friendly! Hahaha i love the way you edit your video btw!! Keep it up!! can’t wait to see more of your new videos!
I love how you're so enthusiastic and energetic.... Its like you're talking to yourself in a room alone, except you're in public, in the middle of a restaurant
Just discover your posting, i am BLASTed. So professionally done. Thanks for for such wonderful video.
Lol eating a pillow, why I never thought about that
I remember my dad used to go to Yum Cha at 6AM in the morning....
I was like "the fk. Seems like restaurants never close"
Blondie in China
hmm wonder if maybe the yum cha just opens super early hahah
My favorite is eating youtiao and tofu brain together. It'll will be amazing if you add some chili oil, jiucaihua and soysauce to tofu brain, then dip the soup with youtiao
5:40 is literally enough reason for me to want to fly there right now... omggggggg
this video makes me feel hungry, miss my hometown
As a Chinese raised in the west, I am incredibly appreciative of your content. Keep up the good work!
Actually very detailed introduction, such informative content
I want to go to China right away & eat all of those‼️And your Chinese is super good❣️我学习中文 but it doesn’t get better like yours.I learned a couple of new phrases from your video though❣️
I really love your video. I display to my Chinese learning students. The length is good 6-7 minutes. The topics are related to the content of our textbook. Thank you.
you are brave willing try out the ‘豆汁儿’, it need sometime to get use to but...........anyway you are brave
Don't forget to like guys! Make her popular!!!
@Blondie in China you should add another version of tofu flower from Sichuan, the west of China, totally different task, makes your tough num.
4:58 LOL, that aunty's accent actually sounds like a northern Chinese ; )
Actually, my interpretation of "Tofu Brain" is that, brain texture is creamy, soft, tender, just like "brain"... BTW, have your try pig brain before?
When I was in China, sesame balls (麻 球）were often on the table. So were wontons. Sticky rice balls (汤圆）were also good.
For those who didnt stay in Beijing for really a long time, "Dou zhi" would be the last kind of food they wanna taste, It just need so much time to get used to it.
I really loved this video! I want to try all of the foods you've introduced to us, they look absolutely delicious.
I watched your "How i learned Chinese" video and it's so fascinating that you majored in business and not in chinese! I just graduated and I have no idea what I want to do with my life. It's so refreshing to see you living your best life while incorporating a language you learned for fun! Subscribed!!!
Blondie in China
haha don't worry, I'm still figuring out what to do with my life. For the moment, just going with the flow and not trying to think too hard about it!!! Thanks for the kind words :)
Wow, I loved this video! She explains this with so much detail and enthusiasm, and so I feel like I learn so much. Thank you for sharing~^^ (I also love the Chinese subtitles—great for learning.)
omg!!! Chang Fen is definitely my all-time favorite breakfast !!! Glad that you introduce it to youtube :)
You look like such a bright, honest person! You made my evening with your enthusiasm, beauty and superb video content! Thank you .
I live in china and is partially from china but I haven’t tried a lot of breakfasts you had
Two Plus Three
Its like eating a pillow haha! That cracked me up. I hope our family can visit China one day - I've talked about it before on our channel, but we haven't been able to actually go yet. For now I'll just enjoy it through you :)
https://youtu.be/fhkE3e7lT_g I suggest you go to Sichuan Province, where there is a lot to eat. In this video, Li Ziqi is doing Sichuan cuisine.
If you want some history pair with your appetite, you should def visit my home province of Henan, Located in central China it is filled with history and delicious cuisine.
I know you've been to Chongqing before. Actually in Chongqing, Toufu brians and Toufu flower are totally dieferent.
I still haven’t been Beijing....... I would like to visit the capital of my motherland after finishing high school
I like your videos very much.I am now studying abroad and your videos make me homesick.
1:44 dou zhi must be like black coffee dipping in fried dough (doughnut)
Well done! This is probably the best in terms of variety and less emotional than the other food warriors present their experiences. I would like to know the gear and equipment used!
Thumbs up for not having prejudice against China and the willingness to explore China, you should visit xinjiang and see how shameless fake news BBC is
Yes. fake BBC news, as opposed to the 'accurate' reporting from China Daily who selectively publishes news reports that only shine China in a good light. News is about both sides. Not saying BBC is right but to say BBC is 'fake' is totally inaccurate and wrong.
Toby Ng The problem is that BBC makes things up. Whatever China does is wrong and evil according to BBC's report.
Heck, I can't even go to Xinjiang after I got my US passport and I'm ethnically Han Chinese!
Yeah BBC is such shit compared to the great and honorable Chinese media.
@meast703 no one said Chinese media is honourable. It is just that BBC and fox news are trying to change the viewer's mind that China is up to no good.
I have read comments made by Malaysian Malays stating that they have visited Xinjiang. They said that everything is normal overthere and saying BBC is making false accusation.
And when u watch the BBC video about the camp in Xinjiang. They are trying to twist it to make it sound like a prison when everything looks educational and yet no evidence were given throughout the video.
Gary Zhao; I don't disagree per se. But d devil is always well mannered and stylish before he devours u... Get my drift...?
Gary Zhao yet your family name is Chinese. humiliate your ancestors making you more superior?
@Toby Ng in your dictionary, does fabricate equals fake? Pls visit XinJiang and see the truth for yourself.
@meast703 Same thing done to the parts of middle east by USA and no one bat an eye on it. This is just a thing commonly abused by superpower nations.
@Gabriel Lee exactly my point. Anytime someone brings up something China is known to be doing Chinese just bring up other shit because in the end they just don't care.
@meast703 that's your point proofing Chinese ignore what our government is doing? Honestly what can we do with the system we currently have? Create awareness? The government of China will take action to reduce any unrest among the society. And ofc. We bring other nation to the issue is to state that China is not the only country that is doing such actions. Its unfair to keep pointing at China when ignoring other countries
Western media people have no professional ethics, many fake news
Tofu flower has always been served as a dessert ever since I was a kid, even in Chinese restaurants.
One of the reasons I can get up early every day is Chinese breakfast.
You could find the most traditional and representative southern China! food for breakfast in Guangzhou! 😄
love your videos!! Thanks for making all these beautiful videos and introducing Chinese culture (not only the foods ) to all the YouTubers! :)
Hope you enjoy your everyday adventures in China!!
Btw, I’m from Kunming in Yunnan province, hope you will love there if one day you will have a chance to explore there out ! :)
Never heard of The first one being dipped in soy milk and now I have to try it because it’s one of my favourite things to eat. I also remember the tofu (sweet) .
Egg pancake with one more egg is always my favorite~
Hi. Blondie, I envy you having such great fun with the Chinese food. There were so many type of food you have tried, which I have seen before. I looking forward to try it some day
Like eating a pillow really got me there hhhhhh you know how funny it is to translate it back to jiu xiang zai chi zhen tou...
It's good that you introduce many kinds of breakfast the native Chinese will eat. I think your videos definitely reflects the breakfast cuilture in China., both in north and south of China
The lady selling Tofu flower in Shenzhen is definitely from the Northeast. Interesting.
I used to live in Guangdong, i always ate wan tong with tongu or rice noodles with char shu and greens
(Hot spicy soup)is very popular in Henan province central China.
Loved tofu in a spicy sauce with sea weed and some green veg. I think they do it in Shanghai. You should try it!
Now you can understand why I always skip my breakfast when I’m in Australia. It is either Ham & cheese croissant or brekkie roll & quick pancakes from hungry jacks... I miss Chinese breakfast😂
As a fellow Aus, I gotta say your travel vlogs and vids are one of the best to exist, really chill and wholesome, love it mate!
I was living in the apartment behind you in the beginning of the video, are you a student of CUC or CIBU？I missing there life...
Just stumble across this video. Love the work you put into i it to distinguish yourself from other bloggers.
I'm going to China in September for the year and I'm so excited to try all the different foods! Thanks for the video
you make me miss my hometown breakfast. Like your Vlog!!!
I absolutely love your energy and have to admit you are very captivating hopefully I could meet you one day and we could go on fun Chinese adventures
I tried Chang Fen for the first time in a restaurant called The Sweet Dynasty, and it was unspeakably gooood!!
if you have a chance visit GuangDong province, look for the Chang Fen on the street food booths, they taste more soft and thin, melt right inside your mouth. they change recipe in restaurant to make it easier to make.
Awesome vlog! Absolutely love your animated narration and amazement with your mandarin! Had to subscribe...I also follow "Where's Poppy". I'm intrigued by foreigners living and embracing the Chinese culture. Looking forward to seeing more of your vids!
You mentioned all of my favorite breakfast dishes here, haha! Baozi especially. I also see a lot of people grabbing those yogurt drinks in the morning, but maybe it's because I'm at a university and the students are always in a hurry.
This is a mouth watering chinese breakfast introduction!! Greetings from the Netherlands!
quỳnh lê thị phương
im waiting for your chinese video to learn both Eng and Chinese :p i'd love your videos. Thanks for everything
Personality like a ray of sunshine, knowledgeable, and great mandarin skills. Subscribed! BTW if you haven't been to Yunnan yet you will love it.

Why am I watching this at 1am in HK where all the breakfast I get is a sandwich....
you can have all of those food in Sydney now, thanks for migrants or expats fro China...just bit of expensive comparing it sells in China...
I like your detail description of those food. I can't even describe it so detailed in Chinese
As an expat living in Shenzhen, I will say that I really enjoy Dou Hua. You can get it at Dong Bei restaurants!
I was on a 10 days trip in china last year and i didnt even get the chance to eat any of the foods you have tried....the chinese is very rich with culture
Great content. Always glad to see a westerner becoming bridge between Chinese and western cultures. Keep up the good work.
Could you share where you visited for breakfast in Shenzhen? I have one more week here in Shenzhen and would love to find those places!
We really like to eat rice that is cooked with a lot of water so it's kinda like a thick soup of rice
We were supposed to go on a school trip with my class to Beijing with my classmates but It didn’t work out in the end
I’m so sad
I’m torturing myself watching this video and eating bread and drinking cold milk , in the US !
Great job Amy! When I first watched you a few months ago you had 2k subs, now 23k subscribers and keep going...
Your videos are so interesting! I start my Chinese lessons next month and I can’t wait! I’ve already started a workbook!
I'm binge watching all of your videos, they are so fun and interesting. The northern cuisine has more fried dishes, whereas the southern has more steam dishes. Personally, I love the cantonese food so much
It’s funny question to ask about it. When I go to Hong Kong or China, I still prefer Hong Kong style cafe which is included milk tea, egg & ham sandwich with sausage or fillet fish.
ah, I just learnt. There's Tofu Brains and Tofu Flower. I'm more familiar with Tofu Flower because my parents are from the South.
Bernard James Wilson
Everytime I visited my grandma she would always have assorted types of baos. I love the one she stuffs with sweet red bean paste.
