Chinese. Born and raised，Traveling here and there
Due to having no extradition agreement, the US and Canada are the first choice of corrupted Chinese official and their kids.
Well there's an easy cure for that, if people stop following her and stop paying attention to her, maybe she'll see the error of her mother's ways as well as that error in her thinking.Being beautiful on the outside doesn't always equate to being beautiful on the inside, as this case goes to show! What her mother did was wrong, but the fact that it brought hardship as well as death to others and the fact that she's so resistant to face that fact, only goes to show the type of daughter her mother raised, materialistic! This world is set up to keep us at each other's throats. The fact that the rich become richer and the Rift between poor and somebody well off becomes farther and farther apart. This is the problem with our reality! We create our own problems by buying into other people's ideologies! Instead of doing the things we know to be right!Perspective is the mother of all f*** ups.
“This world is set up to keep us at each other's throats. The fact that the rich become richer and the Rift between poor and somebody well off becomes farther and farther apart. This is the problem with our reality!”That's exactly what I think..
For the benefit of the people like myself with no idea who she is, who was/is the major of Vancouver has her as a mistress, and who her mother is, could you be more specific with something that references? I understand it may be a problem in legality to name names. But since you already had posted her photo, might as well name her, her mother and the major.
Guess her first name says it all.Lets get the FBI and they will track her down and arrest her. With technology today evidence is apparent and obtainable. I would help if the investigation, I wish i was an undercover cop, it will give me great pleasure to bring these greedy people down.
Not really possible. It is well known among Chinese that corrupt officials and businessmen love to run to Canada, Australia or the US. As these 3 countries are at odds with China, meaning no extradition possible, as well as having a sizeable Chinese population (familiarity).
Really? Wow you are well informed. LolThanks, I mean I went to a high school in NZ where 25% of the students are East-Asian. 20% were Chinese by descent, 80% of these Chinese are from mainland China.I am of Chinese descent myself, so it was easy for me to talk about politics with them in high school. I find nearly all the international students have relatives in the party, most are children of businessman or members of the bureaucracy. Not one of them actually support the party, or believe in the party, however, they will all defend it if someone else (non-Chinese) attacks it. It is a well known fact that many of the students family’s shouldn’t be able to pay the school fees considering how low their “official” income is.I had classmates buying brand “new” luxury cars and other luxury items here as a way to funnel the “unclean” money out of China.
Dirty money is everywhere and it’s something they shouldn’t be proud of showing their luxurious purchase that dont come from genuine hard work sweat and tears. Jason you seem like a smart, sensible guy. We all learn from corrupt sources and greedy, materialistic people. Its not what you wanna be. Keep away from these shady and fake sorts. Which im sure you have no intentions of doing. Knowledge is power, be proud of yourself.
When you have diplomatic immunity you can do anything. That's why in the Jamal Khashoggi death the killers were able to carry the dismembered body parts through an airport and onto a plane. The rules are the rules. Some will gain and some will lose. If the money was stolen, the Chinese government will have to go through the due process to get it back from Wanting Qu.
Diplomatic immunity? Pretty sure that applies to diplomatic staff only. She is more likely to claim that she is “politically-persecuted” while *obviously* sitting on millions of slush fund from questionable sources. When one is laundering a sufficiently large sum of money and for a “poltically-correct” reason, one might just be a risk that is deemed acceptable by a bank's “risk appetite”. That's the “free movement” of capital for you.Your logic of “if China wants to gets back the stolen money, the Chinese government got to go through the due process” should also be applied to Qu. If she wishes to absolve her mother of her alleged crimes, why not appeal and testify in a Chinese Court? Why rant on social media? Mob justice?
My bad on the diplomatic immunity, but I don’t think they would have needed it to move the money.I don’t know what the rules are in China when it comes to locals wiring money to another country, but a government official will likely find it a lot easier to do than some random unknown. KYC is easier, and unless you had proof at the time about how dishonest the money was made, AML tests would be easily passed. I remember there was a time a few years ago when the Chinese were buying-up everything around the world. I would assume that was the period when most of the money was wired out.
Wanting does not need to or have to go back, especially as there is no law to extradite her. In short she doesn’t have to do anything. Therefore, the Chinese government will have to chase her for the money. These are the rules. It doesn’t make it right because there is clearly suspicion that the money was obtained dishonestly.
I agree with your point that the Chinese government has to chase her to recover the monies in a process that is compliant with Canada's judiciary system. However, it is likely that Qu sought to weaponize mob justice to exert pressure on the government to free her mother. Strangely, China is somehow expected to follow Canadian judiciary due process while Qu is free to circumvent the Chinese justice system arbitrarily and whimsically. If Qu believes her mother is innocent and hopes to free her, she should launch an appeal in the Chinese Court. Supply sufficient evidence to challenge allegations of wrong-doing and perhaps, even win state compensation of wrongful conviction.I agree Qu does not have to do anything. That is the wise thing to do. Stay low and hope her fans forget everything. Unfortunately though, she looks to be trying hard to leverage on her popularity and mob justice to free her mother the extra-judicial way while sitting lavishly on a slush fund in Canada, protected by the Canadian legal system while thrashing Chinese justice system.
The world isn’t fair and what’s considered right and wrong changes with time. It’s likely someone’s job in China to recover that money or worst case, kidnap and bring her back to China to face the music. I don’t think it is likely unless she was actually involved in stealing the money. At the moment it just looks like she is enjoying the proceeds her mother has gifted her. Hence China will have to go through the international/Canadian courts to get that money back.I doubt Wanting Qu’s celebrity influence is going to get her mother out of jail. If anything, she is playing the sympathy card and wants to give the impression she is good caring daughter. Personally, I wouldn’t think about it too much as there is little you can do to change the situation or benefit from it. You might as well focus your efforts on more useful things than be disgusted at people because there are probably millions more like this.
Criminality sometimes has a pretty face. In the end, I have more important things to worry about and so do you. The universe has an interesting way of exacting justice.
Is anyone else irritated by the antiquated terminology used in this post and the lack of evidence?
Yeah, what so-called in the western’s eyes: lots of “rich” fled out of china…why? because government/CCP does not rule well, not respect human rights to fulfill wishes:).
Look what her mother did was wrong, but expecting a child to hate their mother for a white collar crime is a little ridiculous?
This is really shocking news. I do enjoy her music. This story reminds me of a Singaporean Pastor who allegedly used church funds (he was charged and served time) to fund his wife’s music. She did do well on the billboards early on and I did enjoy her music too but when news broke out of her source of funds, a lot of people were shocked.
She is a present to us all. Thanks, China.
The evidence for her mother’s corruption is enough for life sentence. But the court is still give her chance to return the stolen money.
good thing you didn’t tell her name, that would have been embarrassing for herBut in an interview, she said, "thanks to my mother for satisfying my wishes from childhood to college, sending me to expensive music schools, and I don't care what others say or how she gets the money."Which part of the above you don’t understand???
She’s in Canada, and getting protected.then what? If your country wants, they can send an entire battalion there to arrest and bring her back to hang her family.
