My mind is blown. The instruments produce such heavenly sound. Wouldn't be possible without the talented musician themselves.

Just some context here. Tang dynasty is the most open minded dynasty of China, so you can hear merging of multi culture elements in this song, central Asian, Indian, Persian etc. different religions were practiced and encouraged in Chang'an, the capital of Tang. This is the objective depiction of culture of Tang dynasty.
This music is inspired by the phenomenal Chinese drama aired this summer 长安十二时辰(The Longest Day in Chang'an). It depicted a wonderful suspense story happened within 24 hours during 上元节(the Lantern festival) in the capital city of Tang Dynasty - Chang'an. Chang'an was the largest city in the world where 1 million people from all around the world living, trading and working there. You could also find a lot of foreign faces working in the government. In the drama, you can see the great beauty and glory of Chang'an as well as the huge crisis hiding beneath the prosperity during the high peak of Tang Dynasty.
It's fascinated! I will listen it again and again.

Here I am bouncing' i.e.dancing to a Tang dynasty style jam! A great way to start my day! The percussion, flute, strings ensemble is a seductive, contemplative, and energizing combination. Shout out to all Chinese around the world. Please safeguard Chinese Cultural and Traditions. These are the elements that shaped us as who we are today.
What a great memory! Cultural and commercial exchanges between Tang Dynasty of China and Central and West Asia.
Wow! That was awesome. Sounded like what rock and roll probably would be in the ancient times. I love these “chamber orchestra” performances.
Very interesting take on the theme songs from【Longest Day in Chang'an】. I like very much.
Beautiful! An unusual composition. Listen perfectly. The band looks fairytale. Like a lively picture.
This piece of music is describes Tang Dynasty of China, with its peak around 700 AD, more than 1300 years ago. It’s really magic when thinking about this. Somehow we’re enjoying the same instrument with people from thousands of years ago. This connection across time is so fascinating, which explains why Chinese treat their history as one of the biggest treasures.
Walkion Now you can see Chinese young generation is doing their best to revive traditional culture. Dynasty is changing but the spirit always remains.
Supernaltooth yes, first the mongols then Manchus and now commies but Chinese will always restore China
Walkion History cannot be destroyed, it is there whether you accept it or not, the good and the bad. And besides, if it were, what on earth are you looking at right now, is this not China’s history, is it not her culture? Please think things through before you comment, for comments like these can be highly misleading. It’s not like the traditions will suddenly disappear and reappear, the palace museum has been standing for hundreds of years already, if you have the time do go and visit, go see the country, the culture, there alive before your eyes, it’s worth it. People are appreciating culture more I agree, a rather natural phenomenon when living standards in the country has improved, people don’t have to worry about poverty thus can spend more time immersed in the world of art. Not to mention as the country grows stronger, hence everyone, including her very own people will begin to take more pride in her. There are people out there dedicating their lives to protecting the historical relics in all of China’s museums, you might want to have a look at their stories, they’re always there for those willing to search for them. Culture is something carved into every little aspect of your life, it’s not something you can easily rid yourself of even if you had wanted to. Thousand year old civilisations cannot be destroyed so easily, give it some respect.
@Walkion Although Chinese culture is very beautiful, it also has many disadvantages. These bad cultures have made China very weak in recent centuries. If China did not break the tradition and establish a new order, and then industrialize, today's China may have been divided up by Western imperialism. One of the reasons why Chinese civilization can last for 5,000 years is that China has been improving its own culture. There is an old saying in China that only by surviving and filling his stomach can he develop cultural life. As long as the economy is developed, the culture will revive along with it.
日月漢明 You cannot restore something that was never destroyed in the first place. The interactions of different cultures and ideologies evolve to become apart of the culture itself, do not look at them as though invaders, because cultures and ideas do not invade and replace, only people do. If you expect civilisations to remain forever unchanged, then you will have to accept that no nation will be living beyond a day. China has changed so greatly from its dawn to today, it embraced foreign ideas during this process, yet China is still China, the core persist up until this very moment, please have more confidence in your own homeland, your own culture. Diversity it is something the Tang accepts, present day China accepts and it’s something you and I must also accept, Tang’s openness is one of the reasons why it became so powerful, it will be one of the reasons why China today is becoming more powerful, so I personally rather have a peaceful outlook on history, for it can only be accepted and not changed.
ohhh Y I do agree, and this will apply for any country, and any culture, even, any person... as many would argue adaptability is what makes humans so good at surviving.
