Our greedy corporates are good only in copying established tech and repackaging at cheap cost. They lack balls to put in money for R&D because scientific temperament is still lacking in not just the political sector but also in corporations.
They are all plain vyapari and not visionary.

I believe India doesn't necessarily need to be a top gun in gen AI necessarily. India can easily go into object detection, action segmentation and countless other different uses of AI the way Japan has. But the problems are that neither does indian budget prioritize R&D and nor do Indian investors. They want quick delivery apps over deep tech companies. Deep tech doesn't just require capital but consistent patience and support. Here in Japan most most professors support building deep tech startups and even your university will support you directly in almost everything if you can prove your idea, while in india most professors will just tell u to keep studying data structures and bullcrap to get a decent job.

As a fellow AI Scientist, working in France, I couldn't find a similar state-of-the-art AI project in India, in the whole country, only a few relevant which u can count on fingers. No infrastructure, too much politics. Its now or never situation.

You can take inspiration from every damn product, buy them, dissect them inside your labs or college, but you cannot showcase for any reason whatsoever.

Queen liar… If it wasn’t developed by your university, why present it at the AI Summit? These platforms are meant to promote Indian innovation, not repackage Chinese products. It clearly shows your university has misinterpreted the very purpose of the summit.

A person who is not an AI person explaining. Why Galgotia University could not send their AI professor under whom the students are researching / developing the Chinese AI Robodog ? India marching forward in AI with a Chinese Robodog ? At least should have brought a self developed a 'Robocow' or a dancing elephant. It would have helped to boost the Atmanirbhar slogan and saved India from the global shame. Now China is mocking India.

Indian IT companies has lot of cash flow, they could have bought AI companies in usa back then but they didn't. The indian government should make comprehensive plan with its IT companies to match global AI companies for the better future of aspiring indian youth

Apart from a few top colleges, the rest of the Indian education system feels like a complete waste of time. Colleges are obsessed with pointless assignments and theory-heavy exams instead of teaching students how to use AI, build real things, and actually improve productivity. Instead of preparing people for the real world, students end up spending four years trapped in a compulsory system that adds little to no practical value.

因为人工智能并不是在2020年或者2022年突然出现的，过去的10到15年里，美国和中国一直在对其进行投资和研究，具体来说是从2007年就开始了。而且像亚马逊、奈飞、YouTube、脸书这样的大公司也一直在为自己的平台使用人工智能，并且同时在进行相关的研究，但是在印度我们却没有看到类似的情况。
与此同时，在这段时期里，他们也已经搭建起了人工智能所需的基础设施，并且开始了相关的研究，比如建立并运营数据中心。OpenAI成立于2015年，他们从那时起就一直在这个领域里耕耘。他们在2021年到2022年之所以能一鸣惊人，靠的是7到8年的研究和投资积累。
我们怎么可能在沉睡了10到12年之后，醒来就想跟人家平起平坐呢？我们除了人才，其他什么东西都没有。

Why did she take that robot dog to the AI summit if it wasn’t actually intended to do what she claimed? If it was only for study purposes, it should have remained at her college, not at an AI summit. By that logic, anyone could just buy a Chinese drone, showcase it, and claim they developed it. There should also be proper management to verify such cases before giving them space at important events, because incidents like this damage the image of our country.
既然那台机器狗根本做不到她所声称的那些功能，那她为什么还要把它带去人工智能峰会呢？如果它真的只是拿来研究用的，那也该老老实实待在大学里而不是出现在峰会上。要是按这个逻辑，随便哪个人去买个中国产的无人机，摆出来展览，然后宣称是自己研发的，不也行吗？有关部门在给这种项目提供重要活动的展示机会之前也应该有一套完善的管理流程来核实一下情况。毕竟，发生这种事情损害的可是我们国家的形象。

The problem of AI in india is like how government's approach is towards sports and it's infrastructure. Where they expect medels in olympics but zero in investment.

Its like displaying latest iPhone/iMac at your stall and claiming that you developed it.
How can you display something which is not your product?
Is it exhibition of technology developed by innovators or exhibition of machines purchased by universities?
Look at their research papers, one might find plagiarism there too.

Without even having a single clue about how the event goes , we can totally grasp how these things will play out in our country, which seems to care more about pampering the bhakti of high-profile persons than actually addressing the issue of integrity....

This is the situation with many universities across India, They showcase their students to be AI pro students with ability to develop technologies like a robot dog, and then once they come to Companies, they actually show their true colors.. that they never did something like that and just gimmics

Reason is most of the Indian IT companies were busy in serving American companies and providing cheaper services to them while exploiting labor here.
They were busy profiteering for themselves, but no innovation , no R and D.
Sad part is even though it was poor decision making of top tier management but they will not suffer much as they already filled their banks. Rather those having no role in policy making will suffer most.
原因是大多数印度信息技术公司都忙于服务美国公司，一边剥削着本国的劳动力，一边为美国公司提供廉价的服务。
这些公司都只顾着自己牟取暴利，既没有创新，也没有研发。
